I plan on going to Las Vegas the last week of April and have been checking the prices online for airfare but they seem to me to be staying about the same, I was wondering is it cheaper to wait and buy my tickets the closer it gets to my vacation. I usually buy through Alaska Airlines.
Buy them as soon as possible. The fares for flights always go higher as the flight nears. Even if those sale fare you’re seeing aren’t taken by the time the flight leaves, they are only on sale for a certain amount of time and then you cannot purchase them anymore.
I’d try other carriers to see if you can find a better deal someplace else. But they would be the same as far as their prices going up the closer it gets to the flight date.
What tips and tricks do you know to get the best rates?

There will be 2 of us, ages 63 and 71. What about credit cards? Besides hotels, etc., what individuals and businesses readily take them?
Paying with credit and ATM cards are pretty much safe as long as you keep track of it (ex. online banking) but then legit hotels and restaurants can be trusted anyway. Your bank should pay in case of fraud if you have fraud protection from your bank. Always check your purchases at the end of the day.
Regarding how much cash you will bring, I strongly suggest to not bring as much, just withdraw cash from ATMs at the malls where it’s safe whenever you need it.
If you want to know estimate money you will spend for three weeks, I would say that $2,000 would be enough and that must include hotels, goiing out, taxi, roaming around, food, shopping etc. That should be "more than enough".

They have car services that can bring you anywhere once you’re in Manila. It is in Baclaran area but you can ask the hotel’s "pedicab" service to tour you around for shopping and you’ll be safe.

I will be going to mexico Guadalajara (GDL) from Los angeles (LAX) the end of December up to the beginning of january and i still need to buy the tickets but i want to get the cheapest air fare i can find and i know there are certain times where the fare can be really high then drop i want to know when would be the best time for me to buy the ticket? please help!!!
End December is rather expensive (seasonal trends). Book as soon as possible. I dont think prices may go down.
