The Dominican Republic joined Petrocaribe in September 2005. It is a country that relies entirely on oil imports, and oil fuels everything from vehicles to the island’s uncertain electricity supply. Lucia Newman reports from the Dominican Republic, on how it needs all the help it can get from an alliance like Petrocaribe.

I dont mean to be rude, and I hope you dont curse me out for saying, but you are in serious need of a socio-world economics class…you need to understand how globalization has and is playing a part into why there are certain countries who thrive and others that do not. It has nothing to do with America being great..its alot more complex then that.
Do you ever wonder why those “hungry Africans” are so hungry, but yet they live in a country that has large amounts of natural resources?
