Caribbean has hundreds of island destinations and cities you could consider going. where would you go if given a one-week getaway cruise or fly-n-local-tour opportunity? http://www.tropicalcaribbeantravel.com

My favorites are St Bart’s and St Martain. Bermuda is also very beautiful, although it is not considered a Caribbean island, but it’s too nice not to mention and it’s sort of in the area. I’ve been to most of the islands in the Caribbean (via cruise ships) and these are the ones I would love to return back to and spend more time. Hope this helps!

Are you a travel fanatic? If the answer is yes, then here are the top 10 travel destinations you should consider visiting this year and a few reasons why.

Colombia: a place you just have to visit, with its plenty of momentum, friendly people, Colombia has a natural beauty and a country that is fun and safe to explore.

The coastal Caribbean city of Cartagena has great tourist infrastructure mixed with its colonial architecture and history. All the major cities here have fairly large International airports, and flights are often easier and cheaper.

Panama:  when you mention Panama, what comes in the mind is canal. While you may not hear much about it, this country has lots of tourists’ attraction sites than canals only. Panama has a little bit of everything to offer travelers from the lush jungle highlands to excellent surf ad beaches on the pacific side. Add the mix friendly people with diverse and rich culture and you have yourself an equation for a perfect destination.

Cambodia: Siem Reap is just a bit south of Bangkok and it offers a far more authentic and less slick look into the culture while still having well developed infrastructure. One of the benefits here is Angkor Wat temple complex, most visitors use it as a staging area for their time.

Argentina:  Bariloche in Argentina is a city jammed with winter and summer activities. Its stunning scenery in almost all directions makes it popular among those touring different places in the region.

Australia: the island of Tasmania in Australia though it’s a small state is enough to keep most travelers occupied for the entire trip, with its incredible landscapes, national parks, nature reserves and world heritage sites are just but a few great options to fill your days in Australia.

Bangladesh:  This is definitely a place worth to look for when travelling to Asia. The capital city Dakar is the obvious place to start with, the people here are welcoming and friendly. The port city of Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar the worlds longest beach are some of the must go places in Bangladesh.

Italy:  travelers need not to be told to go to Italy, but many people need to be told about the many big Italian Island besides Sicily. Sardinia is one of them; it has long been a vacation destination for Italians. It’s a haven for anyone who loves the outdoors.
Senegal- If you are looking to explore the real Africa you should consider visiting Senegal as your entry point. Its fascinating and easily accessible culture makes it a safe place to be.

Germany:  fun loving?  Berlin in Germany is fairly filled with interesting and amazing new tourist attraction. It has plenty going for including a feel that is somewhat exotic compared to some other countries.

Syria:  Damascus in Syria is one place where you can feel like you are truly stepping back in time. It is the oldest city in the world but this part of the city looks, smells and sounds like it did long ago. It’s full of history and credibly affordable.

So every one, 2009 is the year of travelling to your destination go for it!

A Villa in the Caribbean

Author: admin
12 6th, 2009

Tourists now prefer villa accommodations to typical resort or hotel stay for their Caribbean Vacations.
Broadly speaking the 4 reasons for choosing villa accommodations are:

Solitude: villa accommodations are found to be providing more privacy than the hotels or resorts. Couples can enjoy a quixotic getaway. People willing to spend some quality time exclusively with their kith & kin also prefer the villas.

Accommodations: friends & families can be comfortably housed with each having private bedroom & bath at their disposal. As these villas charge by the number of nights spent and not the number of occupants’ friends & family members can pool in and pay the rent. And it usually comes cheaper (surprised right?) than luxury hotels or resorts. Moreover some Caribbean hotels don’t offer more than 2 bedroom units!

Facilities: Private swimming pools, Jacuzzi’s, tennis courts and villa beachfront property are a close second on the list.

Dining: the villas give you the privilege of having your private chef preparing all that you desire to relish! After a day of sightseeing, swimming or lounging at the beach, it’s refreshing to have a home cooked meal served upon your return. Many travelers arrange to have the villa stocked upon arrival.

We would advise tourists to visit each Caribbean island as a separate entity to soak up its beauty.

If the must-sees on your list include the beautiful islands, then a villa on the St. Lucia hills or the island of Dominica would fit your bill! If St. Lucia has stunning hillside view by the day, Dominican islands are enthralling by the night. Hillside villas would definitely not offer beachfronts but they have pools as substitute!

Islands of the Barbados, Jamaica & St. Thomas usually provide full-staffed villas including butler, chef, laundress, maid & gardener. These also attract vacationers who are taken by lavish golf courses. The staff employed is trained to cater to the demands of the vacationers to make their stay a terrific experience.

St Barts, St Martins or the Barbados islands should be your ideal destinations if you are looking for exclusive world-class cuisines. The French islands of St Barts & St Martins offer unrivaled French delicacies with over 100 restaurants at your service. Barbados, known for dining par excellence, offers the best selection of diverse menus.

Those searching a luxury getaway should head for the Virgin Gorda or the Tortola, both located on the British Virgin Islands. The villas at Virgin Gorda provide great beach access along with some lucrative boat and diving excursions.

What would be your ideal Caribbean villa vacation?

The options are ample to choose from- be it the spacious 10 roomed villas or the singe room ones or you rent the entire island!! While some provide you with private chefs, some even allow the option of ‘dining on your own!’

Villa rentals earlier an indulgence for the wealthy, now is a viable option for many. Most villa owners rope in premier management companies to market their properties. Travel professionals work personally with the management companies to assure each detail is taken care of, and while on the island, management company representatives are always on hand to handle any last minute particulars.

From the Biminis in the northwest to Great Inagua in the southeast, The Bahamas is a blissfully tropical stretch of about 700 islands and cays in the Atlantic Ocean. The tropical and subtropical paradise is quite literally a vacationer’s every dream all within the single sovereign country of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Catch your airfare to the Bahamas and dive into the resort life or island hop to adventure this season!

Travel to the Bahamas is quite simple due to its proximity to the U.S. coast of Florida. Airfare to the Bahamas is most common through Miami International Airport, although many major airlines now fly direct to Nassau. From there you can catch an island jumper to any of the Bahamian islands. Travel within the Bahamas is just that easy; for excursions from Nassau you may jump on a ferry to any of the outlying and far more peaceful islets.

White Sand, White Sails, Why Not?

The Bahamas is quite possibly the quintessential getaway for most of the United States, Canada, Europe and South America. The booming cruise ship industry makes a large portion of its voyages to the islands, typically leaving port from either Miami or Fort Lauderdale and stopping on New Providence and a small handful of other islands. For more of a land-based stay, book yourself an all-inclusive week in one of the many luxurious resorts.

The island of San Salvador offers several secluded retreats catering to the romantics, as well as its own slice of famous history. Often referred to as Columbus Isle, this is the first piece of New World upon which Christopher Columbus dropped his anchor. Though this may not be a celebrated moment among the locals, it is still historically significant. Crooked Island is also a wonderfully wild stop in the Bahamas. Rugged coastline gives way to thick greenery rich with endangered birds, butterflies and even some flamingoes. The island also boasts ‘the world’s largest swimming pool,’ in the form of the crystal clear shallows of Bathing Beach.

Speaking of the pink creatures, make a trip to Inagua National Park to view the largest breeding colony of West Indian flamingoes in the world. The park is centered about Lake Rosa, where hundreds of exotic birds dominate the shimmering waters. For even more adventure, discover the limestone openings to the longest underwater cave system in the world against a picturesque backdrop of golden dunes and turquoise waves on Grand Bahama’s Lucayan National Park.

Bahamian Bon Voyage

The unique wonders of the Bahamas are seemingly countless. Although most travelers stay resort and beach bound, it is clearly worth anyone’s while to explore the natural gifts and cultural diversity of these islands. From world-class divers to professional deep sea fishermen, the Bahamas is not short of sport and recreation. While the capital of Nassau offers all major city amenities, the towns of the southeast islands are far more intimate and socially diverse, rich with Caribbean fare and regional specialties. Get your feet in some white sand this year. Bon Voyage!

Aside from its Major League Baseball fame, the Dominican Republic is an intriguing retreat of colonial history amid progressive development and tranquil white beaches fringing mountainous wilderness. World renowned resorts dot the Punta Cana coastline of the Dominican Republic while the nation claims the oldest city in the New World, Santo Domingo, along its southern shore. For such a small nation, it is fairly easy to book cheap and convenient airfare to the Dominican Republic through any of the four international airports; however, most travelers will find airfare to the Dominican Republic through the capital of Santo Domingo or the resort region of Punta Cana.

Geographically, the Dominican Republic shares the island of Hispaniola with the independent nation of Haiti. While two very independent nations today, the history of the island is far less clear cut. The first European settlement of the New World was established on Hispaniola after Christopher Columbus landed in today’s Dominican Republic. Santo Domingo is the landing site of Columbus as well as the original colonial center ruled by Columbus’ brother Diego. The Museo Alcázar de Colón is a fantastically restored museum within Diego’s original home. The French were granted the western third of the island now known as Haiti.

Dominican history dates back earlier than most of the Caribbean islands, possibly to 2600 BCE. Since then several waves of Antillean people have come and gone until the Spanish conquest in 1492. Indigenous culture can still be observed in the very remote central mountain ranges of the island, but the populations are sparse. Santo Domingo and the second largest city of Santiago offer several museums, festivals and art exhibits dedicated to the history of the island as a whole.

From Dancing to Diving in the Dominican Republic

For a less cultural journey to the Caribbean, the ideal destination for most is the eastern coast of Punta Cana and the surrounding turquoise and white island communities. Spend your days lavishly lounging in a resort designed by Oscar de la Renta near Tortuga Bay or take part in some killer windsurfing and kiteboarding on the breezy waters of Cabarete. Family friendly all-inclusive getaways are sprinkled among vacation rentals in the outlying areas for the more independent, outgoing types (or those who prefer a secluded beach experience).

There are also several options for nightlife. Funky bars serve tropical drinks with a twist and decked out discos play an eclectic mix of beats and rhythms. The exotic dance known as Meringue also originated in the Dominican Republic and many hotels and clubs offer on the spot lessons for beginners through advanced.

The Dominican Republic lies just west of Puerto Rico and east of Jamaica. Although the other Caribbean island nations may be more than a boat ride away, they are readily accessible by air. Get to the tropical Caribbean this season.
