Really "Day 8" if the first Saturday counts as "Day 1" but we didn't do any of the day trips offered in the Miami area. Back in the Port of Miami, we listen to our trip's theme song one last time. Time to go waste a few more hours on a Customs and Immigration line. If you ever do go on a cruise, make sure you are first in line for Customs so as to waste the least amount of time. There were 8 stations open to process more than 3,000 people upon our return. Absurd.

Day 4: St. Thomas driving tour.
Author: admin
Driving tour of St. Thomas. Some breath taking views of the Island, including a view of the Voyager. Magan's Bay Beach is consistently rated as one of the top 10 beaches in the world. A brief view of neighboring Islands, including Hans Lollick (which for whatever reason remains undeveloped), Little and Great Tobago, Jost Van Dyke, Tortola and St. John from the aptly named "Mountain Top" viewing point on St. Thomas. A final view of Charlot Amalie at dusk, from the Voyager of the Seas.

Day 6: Ocean at night; a peek at the Midnight Buffet

The sea at night and a mostly full moon. A peek at the midnight buffet being set up. Very calm and atmospheric, like a movie set prepared for the next scene to be shot.

Day 7: At sea in the Royal Suite

The Royal Suite again. Love that deck, and the piano! More of Sebastian's clay creations. Clearly, I am enamoured with our stateroom and with the creativity of the clay creations.

Feels like a movie set, except these galleons are for real. Dank tunnels and passageways alternating with intense sunlight and canons. This fort was not going to be taken! And yet, it is now handicap accessible.

Day 7: At Sea, tour of parts of decks 11 and 12

Deck 11 and 12 pools and views, at dusk. Here it is, the last day, and I'm trying to find time to video the ship! One of the many bands, the kid's pools, the "adult only" pool area designed to look like a Roman Bath, and the "peek-a-boo" deck for a quick look at the bridge.

Morning at Sea on the way to Puerto Rico. The Old World fort of El Morro at the tip of the island kept invaders literally "at bay" for hundreds of years, making Puerto Rico a pivotal location in history and geography. Not such a far trip from St. Thomas, Puerto Rico is actually visible from a hilltop vantage point on St. Thomas. In fact, we spent most of the night's passage from one island to the other idling, just far enough out to sea to allow the ship's casinos to be open for business. It would have been nice to walk around St. Thomas in the early evening, and enjoy the unique experience of a Caribbean island sunset *from* the island. Maybe we could have had time for a drink and some shopping at a relaxed pace after our action-packed day of shore excursions, but as usual: Just follow the money. The casinos need to be open.
